Mother of Christ.
Tthe Virgin Mary, represents the spirituality and strength of Mexico. Until 1992 Mexico had no official religion, even though 95% of the population were Christian and 89% of that number claimed to be Roman Catholic. The Mexicans had to endure strict anti-clerical sanctions imposed by the Constitution of 1917. This is relevant because the cultural evidence suggests the people in Mexico are willing to endure oppression and great hardship for something they really believed in. Let me step out on a limb here and say: Devout believers have faith and do not doubt. The customs and traditions of the Mexican culture is greatly influenced by its belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ , delivered by the great Intecessor, the Virgin Mary.

Mother of God, the Virgin Mary is representative of the spirituality and strength of Mexico. Until 1992 Mexico had no official religion, ; even though 95% of the population were Christian and 89% of that number claimed to be Roman Catholic Christians. The Mexicans had to endure strict anti-clerical sanctions imposed by the Constitution of 1917. This is relevant because the people in Mexico are willing to endure oppression with heart. I would hate to generalize, but let me step out on a limb here and say: Devout believers know without a doubt, where their strength comes from. In Mexico, they receive strength and direction from Jesus Christ, thru the Virgin Mary.
I wonder why Death instead of a cherub holding up the Virgin Mary in this picture.
That's really good information that I just learned. Thank you.
